" I had gone that summer to the beach with some friends for a week. The month was August, and for some reason the sun never came out until 1:00 in the afternoon. That did not stop us for setting up early with our blankets, just admiring the beautiful ocean. The painting is of the daughter of one couple that was sharing the beach house with us. As I was on the blanket watching the waves there she was with the most wonderful smile, in her glory, playing in the sand, it was priceless so I snapped the picture. She was the most fun painting her because of that moment. She was the sunshine on that cloudy day."
